The
DAV National Sports ( Zonal Level) Basketball Tournament 2013 was inaugurated
by lighting the inaugural lamp, hoisting the flag and then by releasing the balloons.
The
Chief Guest Shri Manoj Kaushik, IPS, Superintendent of Police Hazaribag thanked
the DAV Management for organising such a good programme for students as the
Games and Sports play a vital role in the all round development of the
students. Encouraging the students he suggested them that they must take care
of diet , discipline , physical stamina and the true sportsmanship spirit throughout
the tournament. He extended his good wishes to all participating teams.
Shri
Munna Kumar Singh, Commandant (CRPF),
Hazaribag stressed on physical fitness of the participants. He said that a
physically fit person can only excel in every walk of life. He praised the
sincere efforts of the Principal for successful running of the school at such a
place which was a desert some years ago. But the same place has been offering
the rays of knowledge for the all round development of the children now under
his guidance.
The Principal extended his hearty welcome to
the guests and said that it was indeed a great occasion for the school. He told
that altogether 10 teams from DAV Dugda, Hazaribag, Chaibasa ,Bokaro Steel
City, Gandhinagar, Bistupur, Bariatu and Hehal are participating in this
Basketball Tournament. The winning team will participate in the National Level
Meet.
Under
cultural programme the Folk and Aerobic dances
were presented by the students of
senior as well as junior students. Kritika Rashmi and Annaya(std.XI) anchored
the programme.
