held its fifth N.D. Grover Memorial
Super Performers’ Felicitation Ceremony today at the Sr. Wing of the school
here. The name of Shri Grover, the visionary of whose missionary zeal for
making quality education accessible to all, DAV Hazaribag is the product, has come to symbolize his mission. With a view to perpetuate his legacy, DAV Hazaribag has been holding this ceremony since 2009. This year this function was jointly inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Deepak Verma, IPS , Retd IG and Hon’ble Shri Manoj kaushik.

In his address to the audience which
included, apart from the students and the faculty, the super performers and
their parents and the prominent citizens, Hon’ble Shri Deepak Verma, IPS , Retd IG felicitated IIT , IIT-JEE, Medical
and 10 CGPA holders. He said on the occasion that Shri Grover was indeed to be
called Mahatma for his sacrifices that he did for the society. He urged the
parents to play an active role in shaping the future of their children. He also
said that though the factors like hard work, Knowledge, Love, Luck, and
conducive environment matter, but without right attitude they avail little.
Hon’ble
Shri Manoj kaushik
said that of course, material and academic achievements are very good but
character is more important than them. One should never be proud of the success
for the academic and material successes because in real life we need the
positive qualities also for the happiness. So, one must strive his/her best to
develop the personality. He called upon the students to try and make the
sublime message of the Bhagwat Gita
of focusing only on action without any consideration for the result of the
action. He said that the result is inherent in the action itself; hence taking
care of the action in itself brings about the perfect result. He told them not
to deviate from their chosen path. He also added that the real credit for the
success of students goes to the hard working teachers who really shape the
future of the students.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Ranjan Jain, Vice-Chairman, LMC, DAV
Hazaribag, said that DAV Institutions have been imparting quality
education in the society and making it affordable to all. He said that Shri
Grover did for the spread of the quality education in India what Mahatma Gandhi
did for winning freedom for India.
The
Principal Shri Ashok Kumar in his
welcome address acquainted the audience with the all out efforts made by the
school to help the students realize their full potential. He said that the
efforts the management and the faculty have borne rich fruits as is evident in
the large number of performers. Further he said that the present average result
of the school (81.02 %) is an indication of gradual increase in every year.
Shri B. D. Shastri threw light on the
life of N. D. Grover saying that Shri
Grover was indeed a great soul who did a lot for the under privileged children
of the society. He also spoke highlighting the great works done by Shri Grover.
On this occasion, the super performers
who had made their mark in IIT JEE,
Medical and CBSE Board X and XII Exams, Shri B.D. Shastri and Shri G. N .
Dixit the retired teachers were felicitated . Shristi Mishra, who shown bright in the starry firmament by
qualifying the prestigious CAT with 99.16 percentile and getting IIM Kolkata
and Piyush Agarwal, who made his way to India Book of Records and Limca Book of
World Records for inventing the machine that prevents clothes in getting wet in
rain were also felicitated. The cultural items like the welcome song , the
dance on Ganesh Vandana and the mesmerizing solo dance presented by Rishvi of
std.XII entertained the audience a lot. The ‘Reflection’ a souvenir
highlighting some snapshots of the successes of dashing DAVins was also
released on the occasion.The function concluded with the Shanti Path. The whole
programme was anchored by the students of std. XII like Staffy, Kritika, Ananya, Mrinalini, Shaily and by Mr. K. K.
Singh(Teacher) the event coordinator.
A part from large gathering, the
dignitaries of the town like Dr. Ramesh
Kumar Singh, Dinesh Khandelwal , Shri
Sanjay Singh and many other were present on the occasion.
