The two day long 20th
Annual Sports Meet came to an end with felicitation of winners and lowering
down the flag here at Sr. Wing, DAV Public School, Hazaribag. The Chief Guest Shri
Deepak Verma IG, Retd. JAP felicitated the winning House (Ganga, House Master
Mr. N.K. Mishra) which scored 110 points and the runners up House (Satluj House
Master Mrs. Deepali Pd.) which scored 103 points. Saurabh Kumar (Kaveri House)
, Saurabh (Satluj House), Gautam (Gnaga House) were declared the best athlete in boys group whereas Maya (Kaveri House) &
Neha (Ganga House) were declared the best athlete in the girls group in Sr.
group. 
Further, Sushil (Satluj House)
was declared the best athlete in boys group whereas Shalini Kujur (Yamuna
House) was declared the best athlete in Jr. Girls group. Shri Deepak Verma said,
in his address to the students, that the people of Hazaribag are proud of them
as they have been adding feathers to the crown to the school’s cap every year
with their exuberant performance in all fields. The school is heading forward
with glorious story of every year. He wished that the children might prosper
day by day in scholastic as well as co-scholastic arena.
The Principal Shri Ashok Kumar
thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time for the occasion. Further,
he added that the benign presence and motivating speech of the chief guest were
enough to boost the morale of the students.
A welcome song and a colourful
group dance were presented by the students of cultural committee. Besides many
parents, the dignitaries of the town present on the occasion included Dr. Yamuna
Prasad, Shri Sanjay kr. Singh, Shri Arvind Singh, Shri N. S. Sah and many
others. The chief guest was presented memento by the Principal, the vote of
thanks was proposed by Mr. Krishna Kumar
Singh.
