The
N.D. Grover Memorial Inter School Quiz 2013 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest
Mr. Ravi Ranjan (DAV Hazaribag Alumnus) IPS , Bihar Cadre by lighting the lamp
at the Sr. Wing of the DAV Public School. To mark the occasion, a special Hawan
was organised and the floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Late N. D.
Grover.
Speaking
on the occasion the Chief Guest called Grover as the Messiah for down trodden,
poor and under privileged children. He said whatever Einstein called for
Mahatma Gandhi is quite applicable to this Late N.D. Grover who earned the
sobriquets like “Bihar Ka Gandhi” , Jholewala Baba, Dadhichee Rishi, A Faqir
etc. Motivating the children present he said that all children have the potential
to do anything in this world. There is the need to explore his/her ability and
thereafter to make a constant and honest approach for the same.
The
Distinguished Guest Mr. Purushotam Singh
(DAV Hazaribag Alumnus) Dy. S.P. expressed his sincere gratitude to teachers
for their tender care during his schooling life. He told the students that they
are fortunate enough for being groomed in such a prestigious institution under
the able guidance of devoted and dedicated staff.
In
his key address Shri S.R. Modgil, Regional Director, DAV Public Schools,
Hazaribag Zone wished the students to become the pride of the campus due to
their hard work and sincere study. Speaking on the birth anniversary of Late
N.D. Grover he said that he was an educational wizard, it will be a befitting
tribute to him if the state of Jharkhand honours him posthumously as he
contributed to the cause of education in a very big way in the states of Bihar
, Jharkhand , Odisa , M.P., U.P. and West Bengal.
Mr.
Sanjeev Nayak, Director Silicon Institute of Technology Bhuwaneshwar blessed
the children saying that society expects a lot from them . So they must be
committed towards their goal right from the beginning in the interest of
society.
The
principal of the school Shri Ashok Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest , the Distinguished Guest and the dignitaries
present on the occasion and said that it was indeed a great occasion for the
school. He said that Shri Modgil , as a Principal used to encourage and guide
his colleagues , he called him a great educationist and a very dynamic person.
Altogether
21 teams from different schools of Hazaribag and abroad participated in this
quiz show.
