DAV Hazaribag held its fourth N.D. Grover Memorial Super Performers’ Felicitation Ceremony today at the Town Hall here. The name of Shri Grover, the visionary of whose missionary zeal for making quality education accessible to all, DAV Hazaribag is the product, has come to symbolize his mission. With a view to perpetuate his legacy, DAV Hazaribag has been holding this ceremony since 2009.
Today’s function had Hon’ble Dr. Manish Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner Hazaribag as the Chief Guest. In his address to the audience which included, apart from the students and the faculty, the super performers and their parents and prominent citizens, Dr. Manish Ranjan underscored the critical importance of having dreams and aspiring high. With reference to the inspiring stories from such all time great as Thomas Elva Addison, Ofra Wimophrey, J. K. Rowling, Malcolm and Leo Bernard he emphasized the importance of attitude in success. He said that though the factors like hard work, Knowledge, Love, Luck, and conducive environment matter, but without right attitude they avail little. The Distinguished Guest Hon’ble Dr. Pradeep Kumar, IFS, RCCF, Hazaribag, called upon the students to try and make the sublime message of the Bhagwat Gita of focusing only on action without any consideration for the result of the action. He said that the result is inherent in the action itself; hence taking care of the action in itself brings about the perfect result. He told them not to deviate from their chosen path.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Ravi Sukla, IAS said DAV Institutions have been imparting quality education in the society and making it affordable to all. He said that Shri Grover did for the spread quality education in India what Mahatma Gandhi did for winning freedom for India.
Hon’ble S. K. Mishra, Zonal Manager, Bank Of India, Hazaribag, in his address dwelt upon the value of patience and perseverance and staying away from negativism.
Ravi Ranjan, the real star of the day who has the honor of being the first DAV Hazaribag student to get into a top civil service as an IPS, he said to the students that they should never accept anything in their life without reason. He expressed his gratitude for all help and inspiration provided to him by the Principal and the teachers.
Earlier in the day the Principal Shri Ashok Kumar in his welcome address acquainted the audience with the all out efforts made by the school to help the students realize their full potential. He said that the efforts the management and the faculty have borne rich fruits as is evident in the large number of performers.Shri Ranjan Jain, Vice-Chairman, LMC, DAV Hazaribag, also spoke highlighting the great work done by Shri Grover.
Shri B. D. Shastri threw light on the life of N. D. Grover saying that Shri Grover was indeed a great soul who did a lot for the under privileged children of the society.
On this occasion the super performers who had made their mark in IITJE, AIEEE, Medical and CBSE Board Exams. The function concluded with the Shanti Path. The whole programme was anchored by the students of std. XII like Shikha, Shreyashi , Aniket Agrawal and by Mr. K. K. Singh(Teacher) the event coordinator.
A part from large gathering, the dignitaries of the town like Shri Mahabir Lal Vishwakarma, Dinesh Khandelwal and many other were present on the occasion.
